A delicious and easy stove top recipe for Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots. These sweet and buttery carrots are a scrumptious side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds of carrots (which is about 4 cups of carrots cut into 1/2 inch slices)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 tbsp fresh sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Peel, then cut the carrots into 1/2 inch slices. I like to cut mine on a bias.
  2. Place the carrots into a skillet or shallow pan, and add the butter, brown sugar, salt and water.
  3. Bring the mixture to a light boil, then reduce to medium heat.
  4. Stir often.
  5. Cook until the liquid has reduced into a syrup like glaze and the carrots are tender. This should take about 10-15 minutes. The carrots should be easily pierced with a fork when they’re done.
  6. Serve immediately with the chopped fresh green onion.
  7. Feel free to add fresh ground pepper, to taste, before serving.
