Easy Gravy Recipe: From Scratch, No Drippings

This Easy Gravy Recipe is made from scratch and requires no pan drippings!  Using simple pantry ingredients, this delicious and rich gravy is ready in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 210.5 oz cans of consomme
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • 2/3 cup cream
  • fresh ground pepper (to taste, but I like to add 1/8 tsp)

Instructions

  • In a skillet or saucepan add the consomme and simmer over low to medium heat for a few minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the butter and flour (I use a fork to mash it together).
  • Add the butter/flour mixture to the consomme and whisk until the gravy is bubbling and thickened.
  • Once the mixture has thickened, whisk in the cream and simmer until thickened once again.
  • Serve immediately.
