Chocolate Chip Cookies

These Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy and SO chocolatey. And they are not fussy to make at all.  Just easy, and delicious! This. This is a go-to recipe!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 1/4 cups lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips (split into 1 cup and 1/2 cup)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Chop 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips. Leave 1 cup whole.
  4. In a bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  5. Using a mixer beat the butter and sugar until creamy, about 1 min.
  6. Then beat in the egg and vanilla.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients into butter mixture, and stir until just combined.
  8. Mix in the chocolate.
  9. Use about 2 tbsp of cookie dough for each cookie, and place on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Don’t press them down as they will spread as they bake.
  10. Bake until the cookies are golden around the edges, about 8 to 10 min.
