Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Prepare a 10 – 12 cup Bundt pan (see tips), by greasing and flouring the inside of the pan. This step is so important if you want your cake to slide out of the pan. Set aside.
  3. Mash the bananas, set aside.
  4. With an electric mixer, in a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  5. Mix in the eggs, one at a time.
  6. Then mix in the yogurt, vanilla and mashed bananas.
  7. In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt and unsweetened cocoa powder.
  8. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and stir until smooth.
  9. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  10. Pour the batter into your prepped Bundt pan. Gently tap the pan on the countertop to remove air bubbles.
  11. Bake for 90 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean.
  12. When done, let your pan cool on a wire rack for about 15 – 20 minutes before turning the cake out onto a serving plate.
