Campfire Peach Crisp

This peach crisp dessert is cooked in a tin foil package over a low flame campfire. So delicious!

Ingredients

The Peach Layer:

  • 4 1/25 cups peaches (chopped (approx 45 peaches))
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp water or fruit juice

The Crumble Layer:

  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • dash salt

Instructions

The Peach Mix:

  1. In a mixing bowl combine peaches, water and sugar.

The Crumble Mix:

  1. Combine flour, sugar, oats and salt.
  2. Add melted butter. Mix.

Putting it all together:

  1. Lay out a large piece of tin foil, and fold the edges up making a rectangular package with it.
  2. Put the peach mixture into the tin foil packet.
  3. Then add the crumble mix on top.
  4. Fold the tinfoil edges together, sealing the crisp up like a package.
  5. ** I also like to add another layer of tinfoil and wrap up the package again. I just find it’s more sturdy) **
  6. Put the foil package onto the grate on the campfire, and cook for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Make sure the fire isn’t too large…a nice low flame works best.
  7. Enjoy!

Serve with milk or cream.
